
Jennifer always dreamed of being an multi-tasking star. When she was young Jennifer was into a wide range of music styles, but she particularly loved Afro-Caribbean musics like merengue, salsa and the bachata. In addition, she loved mainstream music such as hip-hop , and R&B. The music she loved was also fascinated by the film industry. West Side Story, a musical by Rita Moreno (1961), was her biggest inspiration. At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Jennifer was also an entertainer as well as a Catholic schoolgirl, completed eight years of Holy Family Catholic elementary school located in The Bronx. After completing an entire four-year period and graduation, she attended Preston High School, an all-girls prep school. Jennifer performed well in the sports department throughout her school years and played tennis and track and field. Then, in Castle Hill, she spent her early years in a two-story residence. Jennifer left her parents' house at age 18 and moved out. During this time, Lopez worked at a law firm and took dance jobs in the evening.
